The Southern Shore Folk Arts Council is a social enterprise with the
mandate to promote the arts in the Southern Shore region of Newfoundland
operating from the historic Kavanagh Premises / Regional Arts Centre in
Ferryland. Key activities include operation of the Shamrock Festival, Dinner
Theatre, Tetley Tea Room and Special Events and the hosting of private and
The SSFAC is currently accepting applications for the position of EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR. This is a key management position with responsibility for SSFAC
business operations including: personnel, financial, property and event
management, community and government engagement, business oversight
and Board liaison. The position reports to the Board of Directors.
A University / College degree or an equivalent combination of education
and experience is required. The ideal candidate has strong leadership and
organizational skills and a proven record of success in business or not-forprofit
management; has a passion for the arts and is competent in dealing
with the public as well as community organizations and government
agencies. The candidate must have strong communication skills and the
ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Experience
working with Boards and an understanding of financial statements would
be an asset.
