Saab Microwave Canada Ltd. (SMC), a subsidiary of Saab AB Aerospace and Defense, was established as its own entity in 2006. Located in Dartmouth, N.S., SMC primarily provides support to DND for Saab Radar systems found onboard the Halifax Class Frigates. Services include program management, mobile repair parties, retrofit activities, repair services, and equipment modifications. SMC is taking on new responsibilities in relation to sustainable growth within Canada, and has over the last few years expanded its facilities and capabilities. Due to this growth, they are looking to add a Service Technician to their team.
As the Service Technician you will lead the installations and maintenance work on radars (naval, land based, or remote locations). You will be responsible for complex repairs of electronics/cabling/optics, performing shipping and receiving functions, performing packaging/assembly of complex kits and writing reports.
As the ideal candidate you have experience performing work on radar/sonar or sensor systems. You are able to read/interpret technical documents related to operations and maintenance and have experience working in a high voltage environment. You have (or are able to obtain) your NATO Secret level security clearance and are comfortable to perform work at heights. You also are able to travel nationally and internationally.
