It’s no secret that modern universities are expensive. Although tuition rates vary widely throughout North America, these usually aren’t the only costs you have to consider. There are textbooks, computers and rent (even if you decide to go the dorm route) too, among many others. Many people take full-time jobs while studying, not giving themselves enough time to do either really well.
Alternatives to the traditional university, such as trade schools and polytechnic institutions have, for this reason, been in higher demand lately. They offer two-year programs that are tailored for specific jobs. Furthermore, their classes are much more hands-on, allowing students to learn the skills they need by doing them, rather than just studying them.
In the modern market, workers need every advantage they can get. Trade schools and polytechnics are great options that cost less than a traditional university
